In February 2025, I’ll be lacing up my running shoes to participate in the Mazda10K race in beautiful Split, Croatia. This run is close to my heart, not just because of the breathtaking location, but because I’m doing it to support a cause that matters deeply to me: autism awareness. I’m raising funds for Fondation Autisme, a charity dedicated to supporting individuals with autism and their families. Fondation Autisme has been a tremendous help, providing support and resources that have been invaluable in navigating life with my autistic son.
Croatia is part of my identity. It’s the birthplace of my paternal grandparents, and it’s a place that has always felt like a second home to me. As I wrote my upcoming novel, BOY OVERBOARD (releasing September 2025 through Sweet Cherry Publishing ), memories of Croatia found their way onto the pages. My protagonist, Hugo, who—like my 15-year-old son—is autistic, explores the historic city of Split, which I’ve set as a key backdrop in the story. One highlight is Diocletian’s Palace, the very place where this race will finish!
Now, I’m not promising a new national record for Luxembourg ;-) —but I can promise that every euro will make a real difference for individuals with autism. My goal is to raise 2500 euros for Fondation Autisme to fund vital programs and support.
Every euro counts and gets us one step closer to creating a world where individuals with autism are fully supported and celebrated. Whether you’re able to contribute or simply share this campaign with friends and family, I’m deeply grateful for your support. Let’s cross this finish line together—for Hugo, for my son, and for everyone in the autism community.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me!
Hvala lijepa
